Journey to Durango
Today, we left Antonio and made our way across Highway 160 to Durango. It was a perilous journey, rife with 7% grades, hairpin turns, and limited warnings for scenic pulloffs that left the wife terrified! Admittedly, the drive was a tad annoying thanks to constant rains through most of the route. It was worth it for the views and our final destination though! Of note, we made a short stop at Treasure Falls, visited the Durango Museum, and spent several hours at the Durango hotsprings for a massage and deep soak. Tomorrow, we’ll be riding the Durango & Silverton to enjoy the pretty scenery, explore Silverton, and enjoy to pretty return trip in the open air car.
