First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Pastor Chad Power

Chad spent 24 years as a professor, teacher, and mentor at Hastings College in the Media Department. After a life changing mission trip to Jamaica in 2016, he responded to God’s call to begin seminary at Bethel Seminary. Chad also joined the staff at First St. Paul’s as Children’s and Family Ministry Director. Working alongside a team of dedicated volunteers, he serves the youth and families of First St. Paul’s through their Sunday and Wednesday Kids Ministry programs.

Ceremony Timeline

After much deliberation to find a comfortable middle ground between the traditionalist Roman Catholic faith of the groom and the small town Methodist experiences of the bride, we decided to be joined in holy matrimony with a Lutheran ceremony.

Led by Pastor Chad Powers, the ceremony will begin with

To keep everyone in the moment, the ceremony is phone free. The church is small, and anyone on their phones will be seen in the expensive professional photos and video.

All photos will be available to guests via the the Gallery page when the couple receives the professional photos.

Dress Codes and Attire

A wedding is a formal event. Formal attire is required for both the ceremony and reception. We understand that not everyone has proper formal attire, so we have opted for some looser guidelines. Officially, the dress code is as follows.

Formal/Cocktail

  • Men are expected to wear a suit and tie. At minimum, a pair of dress pants and a dress shirt with tie, and optionally a blazer. No jeans, no cowboy boots. Wear dress shoes.
  • Women should opt for a fancy cocktail dress, or a tea-length, knee-length, or midi dress. A formal blouse with dress pants is also acceptable. Do not wear white.

Please take the weather into advisement. While indoors and in air conditioned buildings, this is still a late summer wedding in Nebraska. It will be hot and humid. Go with lighter, more breathable fabrics.

Parking & Church Information

When entering the Stuhr Museum via Highway 34, tell the person at the entrance booth that you are here for the Lo Coco Wedding and they will point you to the church (circled on the map). Gravel parking lots are available in front of and next to the church. Bathrooms and water fountains are located in the outbuilding next to the church. Both the outbuilding and the church are air conditioned.

The Ceremony

On video

Begins at 3 PM Central Time

Watch live or watch the archive afterward. We know a lot of our friends and family couldn’t make the trip out to join us for our wedding. To accomodate, we will be livestreaming on our YouTube channel, The Lo Coco Wedding. The video will also be archived and publicly available following the completion of the ceremony.

Until the ceremony takes place, enjoy this NASA livestream because space is cool!
